Patagonia
In February of 2019, Jeffrey and I lassoed a handful of friends to join us on an expedition to the southernmost Andes—Patagonia. We hiked in Argentina’s Los Glaciares National Park overlooking dramatic glacial icefields in the shadow of Monte Fitz Roy, and in Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
We tracked pumas and Andean condors while crossing paths with guanacos and a multitude of bird species. And as the dawn sunlight hit the granite spires of Torres del Paine, we observed its transformation from cold gray granite into a blaze of gold—alpenglow.
